Traveling Merchandiser/Fixture Installer

Role and Responsibilities

The Merchandiser supports the Merchandising Supervisor to execute reset/remodel/merchandising projects for a plethora of national retail partners with remodeling or floor set projects across the country. This role requires adaptability, logical problem-solving abilities, people skills in combination with the ability to follow directions, read POGs, and work efficiently and travel up to 100% of the time.

Arrive early to prep store with supervisor for reset team (i.e., pull / lay out schematics, identify issues, verify equipment, audit sections for accuracy against schematic, backroom for boxes, and be prepared to start merchandisers at scheduled time).

Take direction from supervisor and lead ensuring on time, accurate and efficient execution of project by proficiently reading, setting and bays and proper installation of fixtures based on provided blueprints and POGs.

Working neatly and leave the department/location shoppable.

Assist in the completion of all projects assigned.

Starting pay is $16/hr. (If travel is needed: $50/day per diem and all associated costs like lodging and flights will be company paid.)

MERCHANDISER QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 1+ year experience in merchandiser within big box, warehouse type stores.
  • Willingness to travel via plane or car (company paid) and remain on the road for up to 6 weeks at a time.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance, including well-groomed hair and attire that meets our safety standards.
  • Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing market needs.
  • Display self-driven, positive attitude integrity and ability work well in public settings.
  • Be punctual and work all scheduled hours, including overnight and early morning hours.
  • Have an active and reliable means and device telephone for daily communication.
  • Must have a valid email address for daily communication and access to email
  • Ability to understand and explain the mapping processes and read schematics (POG).
  • Ability to set all types of variations: (pegs, shelf, reverse flows etc.)
  • Ability to handle light power tools, (drills), and manual tools, (hammer, screw drivers etc.).
  • Be able to stand, bend, stoop, climb stairs/ladders and lift above shoulder level consistently.
  • Walk and stand for up to 10-hour shifts (often on concrete and/or tile surfaces).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently; more with multiple crew members assisting.
  • Ability to travel for 3-6 weeks at a time without weekend trips home.

Traveling Laborer

Colony Display is hiring for Traveling Laborers(s) who will assist in on-site assembly for all phases of in-store renovation displays for national retailers. 100% travel is required. Ideal candidate(s) will focus on attention-to-detail, driven by deadlines, and can complete projects in or below budget. Responsibilities requires inspecting worksites to ensure a high standard of quality is delivered ensuring meeting all project deadlines are met with safety at the forefront of their contribution.

**Compensation to include allowance for travel expenses (mileage, daily per diem) and the possibility of bonus based on performance.

Starting pay is $14.50/hr. ($50/day per diem and all associated costs like lodging and flights will be company paid.)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in building out store layouts, foundation systems, prefabricated wall install and finish work for store department remodels.
  • Support management to ensure compliance of company, clients, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Work alongside diverse team of 4 to 6 contract workers to deliver outstanding results.
  • Exceed quality control (QC) expectations established by the client.
  • Ability to work from drawings, specifications, and instructions to build, remodel, and repair various types of fixtures, racking, stores, and layouts.
  • Function under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Manage a clean and organized job site.
  • Promote safety, cleanliness, and maintain organized worksites.
  • Assist in review of blueprints and planograms to determine optimal work procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous general labor experience and ability to use tools of the trade.
  • 100% travel with up to 3 weeks away from home.
  • Experience driving a forklift.
  • Willingness to work under direction to complete specific task.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, and stand for extended periods of time.

Merchandising Team Lead

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Merchandising Team Lead supports the Merchandising Supervisor who directs up to 30 contingent contractors to support our plethora national retailers and travel industry partners with remodeling or floor set projects across the country. This role requires adaptability, logical problem-solving abilities, people skills in combination with the ability to manage process effectively and travel up to 100% of the time. This intent of this role is to develop into Merchandising Team Leads and Merchandising Supervisors.

  • 2+ years’ experience in merchandising and retail experience preferred.
  • Have a reliable form of transportation. (Current valid Driver’s license and proof of Auto insurance will be required)

Market Manager

Merchandising Market Manager Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding, training and coaching of field supervisors ensuring a high level of competence from each supervisor prior to leading solo customer projects.
  • Develop a keen sense of knowledge related to the project and client being served.
  • Professionally be an extension of upper management driven for client and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure supervisors understand the critical working parts of the project to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Inspect all projects to ensure they meet the quality control standards and remediate concerns when necessary.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with the Regional Management team related to schedule changes, project changes, and adapt accordingly to business needs and deadlines.
  • Facilitate inspections on crews to maintain quality of work for the client.
  • Identify and report project concerns to the Regional Management team, craft solutions, and collaborate to ensure a successful execution for a completed job.
  • Simultaneously maintain and document daily project logs, including photos, across multiple projects underway submitting/reporting daily documentation within specified timeline.
  • Conduct daily walk around job sites to monitor progress and assist management with future project planning needs.
  • Disburse meeting details relevant to specific projects to impacted crews or store personnel.
  • Ensure all job sites are maintained and operate safely in a clean and organized manner.
  • Manage direct reports (supervisors and team leads) through coaching and planning to develop future leaders.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure all work responsibilities are distributed equitably to cover absence for all crew members.
  • Give feedback to direct reports related to performance or production of work.
  • Manage and report time sheets; field reports; expense reports; create field schedules.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction, merchandising, reset, remodel management experience.
  • Ability to adapt to a 100% travel schedule; instore hours will mirror that of direct reports.
  • Be tech savvy with the ability to use Microsoft Office 365 and or related applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Merchandising Supervisor

Colony Display is in search of Merchandising Supervisor(s) to support on-site coordination for all phases of merchandising projects, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.   • Identify and address verbally and in written format, performance issues both internally and externally at retail.

  • Attend monthly kick off meetings.
  • Complete walk-through with Store Management and visually/verbally review changes implemented per Store Planning and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Support, train and oversee development of new and existing Merchandisers.
  • Transport small fixtures to and from store locations for resets.
  • Correct “one-off” store issues and provide manufacturer audit resolution.
  • Check email at least twice daily and respond within 24 hours.
  • Verify that resets are complete and done correctly.
  • Build and maintain high level relationships with Store Managers, District Managers, and key store personnel.
  • Organize/file monthly paperwork, (instructions, schematics, pictures, etc.).
  • Monitor attendance/report no-shows accurately.
  • Participate in conference calls with Management.
  • Augment shelf or fixture delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Lead Merchandiser or equivalent experience/exposure.
  • Have a reliable form of transportation. (Current valid Driver’s license and proof of Auto insurance will be required).

Please note: Merchandising Supervisors will spend on average 3 to 4 weeks straight on the road with 1 week at home. Time at home is remote work time which will require engagement in virtual meetings, recruiting, planning, preparation, and business support functions.
